Mark T. Burke, founder and CEO, has 10 years of experience developing and leading virtual schools. Mark helped developed KC Distance Learning Inc.’s Keystone National High School and iQ Academies online programs. During those 10 years, Mark served as an Instructional Designer, Manager of Curriculum Development, Assistant Director of Education, Director of Keystone National High School and Director of Instruction. Mark’s career also includes 7 years of Music Instruction at the private and public school levels. Mark’s education includes a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Mansfield University and a Masters Degree in Instructional Technology from Bloomsburg University. Mark holds his Instruction and Instructional Specialists certifications through the Department of Education in Pennsylvania. Mark is the founding, performing member of the Keystone Saxophone Quartet. Mark is a member of PMEA, MENC and the Music Professional Learning Network.
Dr. William S. Ciabattari, co-founder and Instructional Supervisor, has 20 years experience teaching instrumental music to students from elementary school through retirement age. Bill currently serves as Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Bands at Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA. Bill’s music education background includes instruction on music theory, instrumental methods, and music research. Bill has served as a festival conductor and clinician, adjudicator, recording artist and performing. Bill holds a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from the University of Arkansas, a Masters Degree in Tuba Performance from Cleveland Institute of Music and a Ph.D on Music Education from Case Western Reserve University.
Rebecca Ciabattari is currently a faculty member at Lycoming College as Instructor of Trombone and Instructor of Brass Methods courses. Prior collegiate teaching positions have included Hiram College in Hiram, OH; South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, SC; and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. She has also worked with young instrumentalists as an Instructor of Bands with MusicAlliance, an organization focused on developing instrumental music programs in private and parochial schools. Rebecca received a Master’s degree with Teaching Licensure from Case Western Reserve University in 2005. As a performer, Rebecca is regularly heard as Trombonist with the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra, as well as with Burning River Brass, a 12-member ensemble which has toured the United States and abroad. Past performing positions have included the Canton Symphony Orchestra, Canton, OH; Charleston Symphony Orchestra, Charleston, SC; and the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, Youngstown, OH. Rebecca received performing degrees specializing in Trombone from Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY (B.M., 1997) and Cleveland Institute of Music in Cleveland, OH (M.M., 1999).
Judith D. Burke, Instructional Contributor, is a graduate of Mansfield University. Judy has recently retired from teaching Instrumental and General Music at Warrior Run Middle School. Judy is currently the Principal Clarinetist with the Williamsport Symphony, Susquehanna Valley Chorale Orchestra, Williamsport Symphony Woodwind Quintet, Williamsport Chamber Choir Orchestra and Penn Central Wind Band. Judy is currently teaching Woodwind Methods and the Clarinet studio at Lycoming College. Past experiences include the positions of Principal Clarinet with the Central Pennsylvania Pops Orchestra, Williamsport Ballet and Opera Orchestra, Repasz Band and Crescendo Woodwind Quintet. Judy also plays Alto Saxophone with the Keystone Saxophone Quartet. Judy has served as a clinician and adjudicator for Solo, Ensemble and Concert Band for Elementary through College level.
